Inuit dogwhip

An Inuit sealer from Greenland used this whip in the 1920s to control the dog team pulling his sled. The whip has a crude wooden handle (about 2ft), the thong is a single 7ft strip of seal (walrus) leather. The style of this whip is rather simple. Where resources are short, everything has just to be functional.
